Competitive advantage ?

Hello boys and girls, yeah, we meet again.So, let's talk about competitive advantage, well, as you can see the title itself have a question mark, let's find out what competitive advantage really is, here we go.
What is competitive advantage ?
a competitive advantage is when a product or service that an organization's customer place a greater value on than similar offerings from a competitor.
then what is first mover advantage ?
first mover advantage occurs when an organization can significantly impact its market share by being first to market with a competitive advantage.


Suprised why did i added Yuna's picture when all i wrote is about competitive advantage and business stuff ? Please do continue reading.haha;) 

Why did i added Yuna's photo ? it can simply related to the first mover advantage, which in a simple way, we can say that Yuna is the first mover advantage when she is the first who brought the turban hijab style in malaysia, and after she wore those style, she got a lot of follower..including myself. 



See ? haha, okay let's go back to the right track. ;D


okay, where do we stop ?
 ha, okay. get it. 
To develop and analyzed competitive advantage, organizations use three common tools that is 

  1. The five forces Model
  1.  The three generic strategies
  1.  Value chain
  • Buyer power
  • Supplier power
  • threat of substitute products or services
  • threat of new entrants
  • rivalry among existing competitors


Let's look at the five forces model first, so what is those five forces model ?
The five forces model is ;
the second tools to analyze competitive advantage is The Three Generic strategies that is 


  • broad cost leadership
  • broad differentiation
  • focused strategy
As you can see on the figure above.

then. the third  common tools to analyzed competitive advantage is value chain.
 A business process is a standardized set of activities that accomplish a specific task such as processing a customer"s order.
 Value Chain approach views and organization as a series of processes,each of which adds value to the product or service for each customer.  
 So basically, these are a little bit something about competitive advantage  and the common tools that practices by an organization to analyzed competitive advantage.
